Shivsrushti Killa ( Akluj Fort )

Akluj holds significant historical importance in Marathi wealth. Numerous battles, campaigns, the presence of Aurangzeb’s camp, Sambhaji Raje’s association, and frequent stays by the Peshwa have all occurred in Akluj. The Nira River served as the boundary between the Nizamshahi dynasty of Ahmednagar and the Adilshahi dynasty of Bijapur. Emperor Aurangzeb even crossed the river by boat during his travels.

The main attraction within the fort is Shivsrushti, where a biography of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been depicted through sculptures and murals. The living standards during Shivaji Maharaj’s era are accurately portrayed through replicas, providing visitors with a direct glimpse into that period.
